[CF: All The Pretty Horses]

The Savage Lands were a thing of raw, violent beauty. What she wouldn't give to have the spare time to paint the way the frozen outer shell gave way to lush, vibrant jungle landscapes; recreating them from memory would have to do.

Tarot wasn't really sure why she was there, either, and the knowledge that giant lizards were a factor did not help this bemused confusion.

The redhead's slender form, clad in the form-fitting uniform with light blue piping, lingered close to Rogue and Laura as they followed the Professor's descent from the Blackbird. The atmosphere was heavy with expectation but Laura seemed to sense no imminent threats. That was good, but common sense told her that it was just as likely that the Blackbird's landing might draw attention from the local wildlife as well as send it scurrying away. "What are the chances one of those large reptiles might be interested in the big metal bird that just landed?" She squeaked out to Laura, in a half-joking manner.

The feral mutant was right to question Tarot's killer instinct.

Of course, she wanted to do her part - she had absolutely no regrets about coming along, but it was still hard to believe that Rogue and Xavier allowed her to come at all and that they thought she might be an asset. It was a wonderful feeling, and it only made her more determined to prove them right. The tension upon landing was hard to miss. It did little good for her nerves, but she did her best to conceal her anxiety. Magneto struck an imposing figure and from the way Rogue bristled as soon as he came to view, she was guessing that there was some negative history there. The fortune teller decided it was best to keep her two-cents out of the situation, though hazel eyes did flicker over the calm and benevolent form of the Professor once or twice as Rogue all but declared her suspicions that Magneto had ulterior motives and Laura questioned his morality altogether. A 'bad guy' was certainly one way of putting it. Tarot had no opinion on the matter, but she did trust Professor Xavier's judgement.

Hazel eyes drifted restlessly over the landscape around them, equally appreciative and apprehensive. Her Strength card was already in hand, prepared to be used at a moment's notice. Gloved hands worry the edges as she turns the glossy card over and over between her fingers. There were others that could be useful here too; particularly the Lovers, but only time would tell how she might be of service. Hopefully, if her foresight triggered, it wouldn't be in the middle of running for her life from a giant, toothy reptile.
